Abstract


Silk fibroin is produced by silkworm. It has been widely studied in the tissue engineering as a scaffold. Silk fibroin can be casted as different kinds of shape. It also can be produced as film. Silk fibroin film has been applied for the reconstruction of tympanic membrane. It is also tested for the guided bone regeneration. Though the bone regeneration was successful, the film itself was too brittle. Thus, the handling film was difficult. In this study, we produced membrane using silk fibroin combined sericin and 4-HR. It showed excellent physical properties. In addition, silk fibroin combined sericin membrane showed good biocompatibility and similar bone formation when compared to the commercial products.
